Now that skinny-tok and "Pilates arms" are trending again let me address something as a woman who grew up in the heroine chic era πŸ”»

Looking back at the 15 years I wasted:

β€’From starving myself through years of anorexia/EDs and actual panic every time i saw a scale --->

β€’To literally not physically being able to eat bc I was going through trauma and abuse --->

"Skinny" reflects to me: deeply struggling with my value and worth, being disconnected from my soul, and shrinking myself for the world

I harshly controlled food (and heavily used alcohol) because I felt out of control of myself 

*CAVEAT: I'm NOT skinny shaming- thin is beautiful, thick is beautiful, all body types are beautiful.... as long as you're mentally and physically healthy

25 lbs up (at 5' 0") from my lowest weight

And now?

I see a reflection of strength.
Of choosing myself, over and over again
Healing my relationship with my body
Winning my battle with food
Making friends with my mental demons
Going to war against patriarchal standards
Devotion to my future self
Returning home 

✨ It's me vs me- and I fucking win ✨ 

Your body, your health, your physical mental and spiritual well being- it's not a trend

It's a reflection of the love, value, and standards you hold for yourself 

But if there is a new body trend...... can it be women eating alot, getting strong AF and building a SHIT TON OF MUSCLE!!?!!
